La faringe es un tubo formado por músculo esquelético y revestido por membrana mucosa que es continua con la de las cavidades nasales (ver Figura 19.2). La faringe se divide en tres regiones principales: la nasofaringe, la orofaringe y la laringofaringe (Figura\(\PageIndex{1}\)).
