    Imagínese que el padre es completamente heterocigótico, como en la primera generación de Mendel. Tiene flores rojas (Rr) y tallos largos (Ll), todo el genotipo es entonces “RRll”.

    Hay dos posibilidades en la anafase I:

    1. O bien el “cromosoma R” y el “cromosoma L” se unen a un polo (en consecuencia, “cromosoma L” y “cromosoma r” a otro polo)
    2. O “cromosoma R” + “cromosoma L” vienen de una manera, y “cromosoma r” + “cromosoma L” de otra manera

    Cada variante tiene 1/2 (50%) de probabilidad, como en lanzar una moneda.

    Cuatro tipos de gametos son posibles:

    1. RL
    2. rl
    3. Rl
    4. rL

    Cuatro gametos dan 16 combinaciones (los fenotipos son de tallo corto, tallo largo, flores blancas y flores rojas):

    Como R y L son dominantes, solo aparecen cuatro fenotipos, y dos de ellos son recombinantes, fenotipos a diferencia de los padres.
