Enfermedades del Aparato Digestivo
Muchas enfermedades pueden afectar el sistema digestivo. Tres de las enfermedades más comunes que afectan el sistema digestivo son las alergias alimentarias, las úlceras y la acidez estomacal. Las enfermedades transmitidas por los alimentos y la intolerancia alimentaria también son problemas graves asociados con el sistema digestivo.
- Las alergias alimentarias ocurren cuando el sistema inmunológico reacciona a las sustancias en los alimentos como si fueran “invasores extranjeros” dañinos. Los alimentos que tienen más probabilidades de causar alergias se muestran en la Figura a continuación, e incluyen nueces, huevos, granos y leche. Los síntomas de las alergias alimentarias a menudo incluyen vómitos y diarrea. Los síntomas de las alergias alimentarias incluyen picazón e hinchazón de los labios y la boca. Los síntomas más graves incluyen dificultad para respirar. En algunos casos, una alergia alimentaria puede desencadenar anafilaxia, que es una reacción extremadamente grave. El tratamiento médico de emergencia es crítico para esta afección, que si no se trata, puede llevar a la muerte.
Estos alimentos son las causas más comunes de alergias alimentarias.
- Las úlceras son llagas en el revestimiento del estómago o duodeno que generalmente son causadas por infecciones bacterianas. También pueden ser causadas por el ambiente ácido del estómago. Los ácidos estomacales pueden dañar el revestimiento del estómago. Los síntomas suelen incluir dolor abdominal y sangrado.
