En una lista con viñetas, cada elemento es un párrafo independiente al que se le da formato con un inciso colgante, una viñeta () y una tabulación. El carácter de viñeta se puede formatear para representar otros símbolos, como marcas de verificación, cuadrados u otros símbolos de la biblioteca de viñetas o viñetas nuevas definidas a medida. Formatear una lista con viñetas añade énfasis, pero no prioridad. Cada elemento con viñetas se considera de igual importancia, como una lista de compras. Por el contrario, una lista numerada muestra una prioridad o secuencia. Una receta típica ayuda a ilustrar esta diferencia:
Los ingredientes y suministros se enumeran con viñetas, porque no hay distinción en su prioridad. Sin embargo, las instrucciones utilizan una lista numerada, porque la secuencia es crucial para el proceso.
Para crear una lista numerada o con viñetas, primero seleccione los párrafos del texto y, a continuación, seleccione la opción adecuada en la pestaña Inicio de la cinta. Haga clic en los comandos Aumentar o Reducir el sangrejo de la pestaña Inicio para formatear la lista de forma adecuada. Para eliminar las viñetas o la numeración, coloque el cursor en la lista y vuelva a hacer clic en el comando Numeración o viñetas.
