Los bebés y los niños pequeños experimentan un enorme crecimiento físico durante los primeros tres años. Desde el aumento de peso y estatura que favorece su desarrollo motor hasta el aumento del perímetro cefálico que representa su rápido crecimiento cerebral. En la Figura 3.1.1, se muestran los cambios físicos en los primeros tres meses, y en la Figura 3.1.2, se muestran los cambios físicos de los 12 a los 36 meses. En esta sección, se explicará el aumento del peso, de la longitud/altura y del perímetro cefálico de los bebés y de los niños pequeños, y se examinarán patrones y diferencias importantes.
