    El objetivo de este capítulo es introducir la regresión lineal, la herramienta estándar en la que se basan los estadísticos al analizar la relación entre los predictores de escala de intervalo y los resultados de la escala de intervalo. Despojado a lo esencial, los modelos de regresión lineal son básicamente una versión ligeramente más elegante de la correlación de Pearson (Sección 5.7) aunque, como veremos, los modelos de regresión son herramientas mucho más poderosas.
