    Miniatura: Este es el Taijitu (), con el negro representando el yin y el blanco representando el yang. Se trata de un símbolo que refleja la dualidad ineludiblemente entrelazada de todas las cosas en la naturaleza, tema común en el taoísmo. Ninguna cualidad es independiente de su opuesto, ni tan pura que no contenga su opuesto en una forma disminuida: estos conceptos están representados por la vaga división entre blanco y negro, el límite fluyente entre ambos, y los círculos más pequeños dentro de las grandes regiones.
