    La comprensión del pathos, logos y ethos es crucial para formular una tesis significativa y discutible, que debe capturar la esencia de tu perspectiva sobre un texto. El argumento en sí requerirá mucho más que una oración o dos, pero la tesis, o la afirmación del argumento central, es una herramienta importante para presentar un caso persuasivo. Debería transmitir a tu lector el punto específico alrededor del cual gira el resto del argumento y por qué ese punto es tan importante.

    Se le anima a componer, al principio de su proceso de redacción, una tesis de trabajo. En este punto, la tesis aún no está puesta en piedra, pero ayudará a guiar tu investigación y tu lógica a medida que formules tu caso. Una vez que hayas analizado el texto, leído la investigación sobre tu tema y determinado tu perspectiva y propósito, necesitarás revisar y refinar tu tesis para asegurarte de que establece y controla tu argumento con impacto real.
