    Un multiplexor, o MUX, es un circuito que selecciona una única salida de múltiples entradas. Tiene múltiples usos. El uso principal de un MUX es seleccionar entre valores de entrada, como valores de entrada a la ALU en una CPU. Pero también se puede usar para implementar lógica donde las líneas selectas son las entradas a una función, y las salidas a la función están cableadas para ingresar valores para el MUX.

    Un MUX es un circuito interesante ya que en realidad contiene un circuito decodificador como parte de su implementación. Esto permite que el MUX se construya más fácilmente usando un decodificador, y muestra un uso válido para un decodificador.
