    Leer secciones Secciones 6.2 y 6.3 del libro de álgebra lineal aplicada Stephen Boyd y Lieven Vandenberghe cubre más sobre las matrices.

    Una matriz de identidad es una matriz cuadrada especial (i.e.\(n=m\)) que tiene unos en la diagonal y ceros en otros lugares. Por ejemplo, la siguiente es una matriz de\(3×3\) identidad:

    \ [\ begin {split}
    I_3 =
    \ left [
    \ begin {matrix}
    1 & 0 & 0\\
    0 & 1 & 0\\
    0 & 0 & 0 & 1
    \ end {matrix}
    \ right]
    \ end {split}\ nonumber\]

    Siempre denotamos la matriz de identidad con un capital\(I\). A menudo se utiliza un subíndice para denotar el valor de\(n\). Las notaciones\(I_{n \times n}\) y\(I_{n}\) son ambas aceptables.

    Una matriz de identidad es similar al número 1 para valores escalares. Es decir, multiplicar una matriz cuadrada\(A_{n \times n}\) por su matriz de identidad correspondiente\(I_{n \times n}\) resulta en sí misma\(A_{n \times n}\).

    Hacer esto

    Elige una\(3 \times 3\) matriz aleatoria y multiplícala por la matriz\(3 \times 3\) Identidad y muestra que obtienes la misma respuesta.

    Pregunta

    Considera dos matrices cuadradas\(A\) y\(B\) de tamaño\(n \times n\). \(AB=BA\)NO es cierto para muchos\(A\) y\(B\). Describir un ejemplo ¿dónde\(AB=BA\) es verdad? Explica por qué la igualdad funciona para tu ejemplo.

    Pregunta

    La siguiente matriz es simétrica. ¿Cuáles son los valores para\(a\)\(b\), y\(c\)? (HINTA que tal vez quiera buscar en línea o en el libro de Boyd para una definición de simetría matricial)

    \ [\ begin {split}
    \ left [
    \ begin {matrix}
    3 & 5 & a\\
    b & 8 & 4\\
    -3 & c & 3
    \ end {matrix}
    \ right]
    \ end {split}\ nonumber\]
