    Este libro de texto introduce muchos de los fundamentos de los enfoques formales para el análisis de las redes sociales. El texto se basa en gran medida en el trabajo de Freeman, Borgatti y Everett (los autores del paquete de software UCINET). Los materiales aquí, y su organización, también estuvieron muy fuertemente influenciados por el texto de Wasserman y Fausto, y por un seminario de posgrado dirigido por el profesor Phillip Bonacich en UCLA. Muchos otros usuarios también han hecho comentarios y sugerencias muy útiles basados en la primera versión.
