Antes de saltar a la escritura, lo mapeo en Microsoft Projects. Pienso en quién está involucrado, qué implica, cuál es el presupuesto. Pasar por ese proceso de antemano me ayuda a refinar. Si escribes primero, tus ideas podrían crecer y salir de alcance. Si haces un plan de proyecto rápido y un presupuesto, lo mantienes realmente enfocado.
Cuando haces el alcance y el presupuesto por adelantado, un par de cosas se vuelven reveladoras. Piensas en las personas que necesitan involucrarse. ¿Tienen la disponibilidad? Eso podría influir en tu línea de tiempo. Si esto tiene que completarse en seis meses, pero la persona adecuada no está disponible, entonces tienes que buscar a otra persona o preguntarte si es algo que incluso podemos hacer.
En general, hay mucha gente con grandes ideas, y no mucha gente que es buena para ejecutar y seguir y completar las tareas. Esa es la parte difícil. No es la idea. Es la ejecución. Organizar y planificar antes de comenzar a escribir te da la capacidad de ejecutar y saber que lo que estás haciendo es realista.
También hablo con otros empleados y les pregunto sus pensamientos antes de empezar a escribir. Si comienzas primero el proceso de escritura, a menudo estás revuelto más tarde para ajustar tu línea de tiempo o rastrear a las personas y de repente alguien se va de vacaciones y el proyecto es debido. Es por eso que necesitas hablar con la gente desde el principio. La escritura es la parte más fácil. Una vez que hayas hablado con la gente, saldrá en tu escritura. Te sentirás seguro de que tienes un buen plan en su lugar.
