Bien, entonces una vez que sepas qué tipo de fuentes necesitas para satisfacer tus necesidades de información, ¿dónde debes buscarlas? Una vez más, pensar en categorías puede ayudar.
El lugar donde se encuentran las fuentes generalmente está organizado por el nivel de experiencia de la audiencia, ya sea que sean fuentes populares, profesionales o académicas. Popular y profesional a menudo se agrupan. Pero las fuentes académicas tienden a pasar el rato solas. (Es por eso que buscar en Google Académico localiza más de ellos que simplemente Google antiguo, y una biblioteca académica tiene más fuentes académicas que una biblioteca pública).
Antes de comenzar a buscar, pruebe la tabla Plan de Fuentes a continuación junto con las sugerencias hechas en esta sección para pensar qué fuentes necesitará para su propio proyecto de investigación. Tener tu Plan de Fuentes siempre a tu lado mientras buscas fuentes te guiará hacia dónde miras y qué estás dispuesto a aceptar. Te ayudará a realizar un seguimiento de si has encontrado los recursos adecuados.
Puedes descargar la tabla en http://go.osu.edu/planforsources, luego llenarla. Usar esta tabla no significa que no puedas cambiar de opinión si luego encuentras otro tipo de recurso que se ve demasiado bueno para dejarlo pasar. Pero hacer un plan primero asegurará que no solo agarres cualquier recurso con el que te encuentres. Los pocos minutos que tardes en completar la mesa te ahorrarán tiempo después. ¡Y es agradable tener un plan todo en un solo lugar que puedas poner en acción!
