Dije que iría allí a trabajar por un día, y la persona con la que estaba hablando dijo: “Estarás bien. Hay un manual. Sólo tienes que seguir el manual”. Bien, me sale el manual, y te muestra cómo iniciar sesión en la computadora. Yo hice el primer paso. Pero entonces el segundo paso dice: “Abre el punto de venta”.
Miré la pantalla y había todos estos íconos. Yo no entendí. Ninguno de los íconos decía 'punto de venta'. Entonces, ¿dónde está el punto de venta? Ese paso crucial faltaba. Entonces, ni siquiera pude abrirla. Si hubiera un visual que mostrara una imagen del icono, podría haberlo abierto. Porque solo decía 'abrir el punto de venta', ni siquiera pude pasar del paso 2.
Es muy importante traer a alguien que no esté familiarizado en absoluto con el tema y hacer que pruebe tus instrucciones. Hay que pensar en lo mucho que sabe su público. Los manuales deben ser tan simples que literalmente cualquiera pueda recogerlos y seguir las instrucciones. Pero muchas veces, saltamos adelante y asumimos que el lector sabe más que ellos. Por eso tenemos que preguntarles y no hacer suposiciones.
