Aunque específica para Estados Unidos, la Plantilla Voluntaria de Accesibilidad de Productos (VPAT) es una lista de verificación que las empresas que abastecen al gobierno de Estados Unidos pueden llenar para documentar la accesibilidad de sus productos. Debido a que un VPAT es completado por el proveedor, o un representante del proveedor, tienen una tendencia a presentar los productos de una mejor manera de lo que realmente puede ser el caso. Como resultado, cada vez que se le presente un VPAT, o reclamo de accesibilidad similar, es importante que una persona con conocimientos en accesibilidad digital revise críticamente el documento.
Revisa los VPat de Canvas y Blackboard que se proporcionan a continuación y escribe una crítica de cada uno. Tenga en cuenta que estos son los formularios VPAT más antiguos, los cuales se basan en los requisitos de la antigua Sección 508.
Las preguntas que quizás quieras responder incluyen, pero no se limitan a:
- ¿Falta información o información adicional que podría haberse proporcionado?
- ¿Se utiliza un lenguaje demasiado complejo que pueda confundir a un lector con un conocimiento limitado de accesibilidad?
- ¿Hay declaraciones que le hagan cuestionar la validez de las observaciones?
- ¿Hay alguna declaración que reconozca temas conocidos?
- ¿Hay explicaciones que no parezcan relevantes a los criterios?
- En una escala del 1 al 10, ¿qué tan bien cree que las observaciones abordan los criterios dados?
Comparar los dos VPATs, cuál sería más probable que creas que es exacto, y ¿por qué piensas esto?
