- 5.1: Conceptos básicos de energía
- La energía es la capacidad de hacer trabajo (aplicar una fuerza para mover la materia). El calor es energía que se transfiere entre objetos a diferentes temperaturas; fluye de una temperatura alta a una baja. Los procesos químicos y físicos pueden absorber calor (endotérmico) o liberar calor (exotérmico). La unidad SI de energía, calor y trabajo es el joule (J). El calor específico y la capacidad calorífica son medidas de la energía necesaria para cambiar la temperatura de una sustancia u objeto.
