Estas notas de conferencia han sido preparadas para dar una introducción a los fundamentos de la física atómica y molecular con énfasis en la interacción de estos sistemas atómicos con la luz, y en general, con los campos electromagnéticos. La tecnología moderna se basa cada vez más en las leyes y propiedades del micromundo, por lo que parece necesario entender las reglas y métodos más importantes de este campo de un estudiante de física.
