El modelo de regresión lineal simple (\(Y=\beta_{0}+\beta_{1} X+\varepsilon\)) incluye una variable aleatoria que\(\varepsilon\) representa el residual que sigue una Distribución Normal con un valor esperado de 0 y una desviación estándar\(\sigma\) que es independiente del valor de\(X\). La estimación de\(\sigma\) se denomina error estándar de muestra de los residuales y se representa con el símbolo\(s_e\). Podemos utilizar el hecho de que el error cuadrático medio (MSE) de la tabla ANOVA representa la varianza estimada de los errores residuales:
\[S_{e}=\sqrt{\mathrm{MSE}}=\sqrt{\dfrac{\mathrm{SSE}}{n-2}} \nonumber \]
Para los datos de lluvia, el error estándar de los residuos se determina como:
\[s_{e}=\sqrt{12.859}=3.586 \nonumber \]
Tenga en cuenta que esta es la desviación estándar de los errores residuales y no debe confundirse con la desviación estándar de\(Y\).
