También aborda el principio de Arquímedes y el equilibrio de los cuerpos flotantes. El capítulo es quizás un poco menos exigente que algunos de los otros capítulos, aunque asumirá una familiaridad con los conceptos de centroides y radio de giro, que se tratan en los Capítulos 1 y 2.
