Esto se hace con equipos especializados de construcción de orgas que actúan en tándem para levantar la tubería de manera relativamente uniforme y bajarla a la zanja. Después de que la tubería se haya bajado al suelo, la zanja se rellena con cuidado para asegurar que la tubería y su revestimiento no incurran en daños. El último paso en la construcción de tuberías es la prueba hidrostática, que consiste en llenar la tubería con agua a presiones superiores a las necesarias para el transporte de gas natural, a través de toda la longitud de la tubería. Esto sirve como prueba para asegurar que la tubería sea lo suficientemente fuerte y esté ausente de fugas o fisuras antes de que el gas natural sea bombeado a través de la tubería.
