La presión es la misma dentro de un organismo que fuera.
Los organismos a grandes profundidades deben ser capaces de soportar grandes presiones internas.
Muchas especies de peces tienen vejigas llenas de gas para mantener la flotabilidad.
Los cachalotes tienen el récord de buceo profundo para los cetáceos a 3050m (10,000 pies). Pueden bucear durante más de una hora en busca de su presa principal: calamares y algunos peces.
Los humanos obtienen las curvas si suben a la superficie demasiado rápido (haciendo que el nitrógeno hierva de la sangre). Lo mismo sucede con los peces de aguas profundas cuando son llevados a la superficie.
