Miniatura: Antiguo estilo de escritura del Canon Pali. En la antigüedad el Canon Pali no se publicaba en forma de libro, sino escrito en finas lonchas de madera (posiblemente bambú). Estas 'páginas' se mantienen una encima de la otra por palos delgados, que pasan por dos pequeños agujeros en las escrituras. Cuando no se usa, la escritura se cubre con tela y se guarda en una caja.
