En el capítulo 1, comenzamos con una pregunta sencilla: ¿Qué es una inversión? Cubrimos las diversas características y atributos de las alternativas de inversión, realizamos una visión general del universo de inversión y discutimos el interminable tira y vuelta entre el riesgo y el retorno. Terminamos el capítulo 1 volviendo nuestra atención a las inversiones a corto plazo y aprendemos cómo y dónde estacionar nuestro dinero.
