Para resolver para la composición continua, debemos comprometernos con la “regla de límites” o utilizar de otra manera el “tronco natural”. El logaritmo natural es el logaritmo a la base e , donde e es equivalente al número irracional 2.71828. A continuación se presenta una solución ejemplar para la composición continua.

FV = PV (e ^Rn)

PV = FV (e ^-Rn)

Donde, e = 2.71828

R = tasa de interés

Nota:

P se omite ya que la composición es continua en lugar de periódica.

Ejemplo: PV = $1

R = .09

N = 10 años

FV =?

Solución: FV = ($1) (2.71828 ^{(.09) (10)})

= $2.4596
