Los libros de texto abiertos son libros de texto completos y completos que han sido financiados, publicados y licenciados para ser utilizados, adaptados y distribuidos libremente. Como un tipo particular de Recurso Educativo Abierto (REA), este libro de texto abierto está destinado a proporcionar contenido temático autoritario, preciso y completo sin costo alguno, a cualquiera que incluya a aquellos que utilizan la tecnología para leer y a aquellos que no pueden pagar los libros de texto tradicionales. Este libro está licenciado con una licencia Creative Commons No Comercial Share-Aalike 4.0, que permite que sea adaptado, remezclado y compartido bajo la misma licencia con atribución. Los profesores y otros lectores pueden estar interesados en localizar, reorganizar o adaptar el contenido, o en transformar el contenido en otros formatos con el objetivo de atender mejor las necesidades de aprendizaje de los estudiantes y/o hacer uso de diversos métodos de enseñanza.
