    La resonancia magnética nuclear (RMN) es un fenómeno físico en el que los núcleos de un campo magnético absorben y reemiten radiación electromagnética. Esta energía se encuentra a una frecuencia de resonancia específica que depende de la intensidad del campo magnético y de las propiedades magnéticas del isótopo de los átomos. Muchas técnicas científicas explotan los fenómenos de RMN para estudiar física molecular, cristales y materiales no cristalinos a través de espectroscopía de resonancia magnética nuclear. La RMN también se usa rutinariamente en técnicas avanzadas de imagen médica, como en la resonancia magnética (MRI).
