6.1: Introducción a la evaluación neurológica
6.2: Conceptos neurológicos básicos
Al completar una evaluación neurológica, es importante comprender las funciones que realizan las diferentes partes del sistema nervioso mientras se analizan los hallazgos. Por ejemplo, el daño a áreas específicas del cerebro, como el causado por una lesión en la cabeza o accidentes cerebrovasculares (es decir, accidentes cerebrovasculares), puede causar déficits específicos en el habla, movimientos faciales o uso de las extremidades.
6.3: Examen Neurológico
El examen neurológico es una valoración clínica del funcionamiento del sistema nervioso central (SNC) y del sistema nervioso periférico (SNP). Hay varias pruebas disponibles al realizar una evaluación neurológica; las pruebas incluidas en la evaluación se seleccionan en función de la condición médica del paciente y los síntomas neurológicos que está experimentando.
6.4: Evaluar el estado mental
La evaluación rutinaria del estado mental de un paciente por enfermeras registradas incluye evaluar su nivel de conciencia, así como su apariencia general, comportamiento general, afecto y estado de ánimo, habla general y rendimiento cognitivo.
6.5: Evaluación de los nervios craneales
Al realizar un examen neurológico integral, los examinadores pueden evaluar el funcionamiento de los nervios craneales. Al realizar estas pruebas, los examinadores comparan las respuestas de lados opuestos de la cara y el cuello. A continuación se proporcionan instrucciones para evaluar cada nervio craneal.
