Dentro del kit de herramientas del filósofo, la lógica es posiblemente la herramienta más poderosa, y ciertamente obtiene el mayor uso. La lógica, el estudio del razonamiento, tiene como objetivo formalizar y describir los procesos de razonamiento utilizados para llegar a las afirmaciones. La lógica es un estudio tanto de cómo hacemos la razón como de cómo debemos razonar. Los logísticos categorizan y explican diferentes formas de razonamiento exitoso junto con errores en el razonamiento, con el objetivo de entender qué hacer bien y qué evitar. Este capítulo busca brindarle una comprensión general de la disciplina de la lógica.
