    Los procesos estocásticos discretos son esencialmente sistemas probabilísticos que evolucionan en el tiempo a través de cambios aleatorios que ocurren a intervalos discretos fijos o aleatorios. Este curso tiene como objetivo ayudar a los estudiantes a adquirir tanto los principios matemáticos como la intuición necesarios para crear, analizar y comprender modelos perspicaces para una amplia gama de estos procesos. La gama de áreas para las que son útiles los modelos de procesos estocásticos discretos se expande constantemente e incluye muchas aplicaciones en ingeniería, física, biología, investigación de operaciones y finanzas.
