Anne McCaffrey es mejor conocida por su serie Dragonriders of Pern, que, con los dragones y todo, debería ponerla firmemente en el género de fantasía. Pero los fans saben que esa serie toma un giro de ciencia ficción muy rápido, y gran parte de su otro trabajo arraiga firmemente en SF, como esta historia.
