Misión “Improvisable”
Una declaración de misión les dice a los clientes, empleados y partes interesadas por qué existe la organización, su propósito. Puede ser conciso, como el de Mary Kay Cosmetics, “Para enriquecer la vida de las mujeres de todo el mundo”, o puede ser más detallado, como lo siguiente de FedEx:
Las declaraciones de misión generalmente se construyen para comunicar varios datos: lo que la compañía se esfuerza por lograr, por qué es conocida y cómo sirve a sus clientes. Aquí hay algunos ejemplos:
- The Hershey Company: Traer dulces momentos de felicidad Hershey al mundo todos los días.
- Microsoft: Nuestra misión En Microsoft, trabajamos para ayudar a las personas y empresas de todo el mundo a realizar todo su potencial. Esta es nuestra misión. Todo lo que hacemos refleja esta misión y los valores que la hacen posible.
- Google: La misión de Google es organizar la información del mundo y hacerla universalmente accesible y útil.
Asignación
Crear hipotéticas declaraciones de misión para cada una de estas cuatro empresas: Outback Steakhouse, Tesoro, Got Junk? , y Staples. Para encontrar descripciones de las cuatro, vaya al sitio Web de cada una de las empresas: www.outbacksteakhouse.com, http://www.tesorocorp.com, http://www.1800gotjunk.com/us_en, www.staples.com.
Al componer sus cuatro declaraciones de misión, siga el formato sugerido anteriormente: cada declaración debe tener aproximadamente dos o tres frases de longitud y debe proporcionar varias piezas de información: lo que la compañía se esfuerza por lograr, por qué es conocida y cómo sirve a sus clientes (y quizás a sus empleados y accionistas, también).
Una última cosa: sus declaraciones deben ser originales, no duplicadas de las declaraciones oficiales de las empresas.
