    Modelo de globo para repulsión electrostática

    Los globos esféricos se inflan y atan, y sus entradas se tuercen juntas para que se unan cuatro globos. Asumen geometría tetraédrica por repulsión mutua, modelando el enfoque VSERPR a la repulsión de cuatro centros de carga. Si un globo está roto, los tres restantes asumen una geometría triangular plana, y si otro globo está roto, los dos restantes asumen una geometría lineal.

    La inestabilidad de NI 3 (o mejor, NI 3 *NH 3) se debe a las mismas repulsiones que son la base para el enfoque VSEPR (3 átomos I grandes y un par solitario unido al átomo N relativamente pequeño)
