La pendiente de la tangente al cicloide en P es\(dy/dx\), que es igual a\(dy/d\theta \), y estos se pueden obtener de las Ecuaciones 19.1.1 y 19.1.2.
Mostrar que la pendiente de la tangente en P es bronceada\( \theta \). Es decir, la tangente en P hace un ángulo\( \theta \) con la horizontal.
Habiendo hecho eso, consideremos ahora lo siguiente:
Que A sea el punto más bajo del círculo. El ángulo\( \psi \) que hace AP con la horizontal viene dado por\( \tan \psi = \frac{y}{x - 2 a \theta }\)
\( \psi = \theta \)Demuéstralo. Por lo tanto, la línea AP es la tangente al cicloide en P; o la tangente en P es la línea AP.
