Resumiendo, la Cognición Social es una habilidad muy compleja y puede verse como el fundamento de nuestra sociedad actual. A partir del concepto de intencionalidad compartida, los humanos muestran con mucho la forma más sofisticada de cooperación social. Aunque no parezca obvio, la Cognición Social en realidad puede ser compatible con la teoría de la evolución y se pueden formular diversos enfoques razonables. Todas estas teorías se basan en un impulso bastante egoísta de transmitir nuestro material genético, por lo que puede ser cuestionable, si realmente existe un altruismo profundamente arraigado y un comportamiento completamente desinteresado.
