Esta sección permite ver y manipular los modos para un cabezal de tambor cuadrado. Puede cambiar los modos usando los controles deslizantes para cambiar los números de modo\(n\) y\(m\). Para una membrana hay líneas nodales que no vibran de manera similar a los nodos que vimos en la cuerda pero ahora en dos dimensiones. Puede rotar y agrandar la superficie arrastrando el mouse sobre la imagen. Al igual que el caso de una cuerda vibratoria, más de un modo puede estar presente en la superficie bidimensional al mismo tiempo.
