La costa de Estados Unidos tiene abundancia de parques nacionales. La costa oeste es un margen de placa activo con acantilados y frentes de montaña que se extienden hasta la costa (y en parte responsable del increíble paisaje de estos parques). Los parques a lo largo de la costa este y la costa del golfo albergan playas de arena e islas barrera y bahías costeras, lagunas y estuarios que son importantes hábitats de vida silvestre. Estas costas también están en riesgo de huracanes y tormentas (Costa Este y Golfo). La costa oeste tiene el riesgo de dañar tormentas y tsunamis. |
