    La Odisea es uno de los dos grandes poemas épicos griegos antiguos atribuidos a Homero. Se trata, en parte, de una secuela de la Ilíada, la otra epopeya homérica. La Odisea es una obra fundamental en el canon occidental moderno, siendo la pieza más antigua existente de la literatura occidental, segunda después de la Ilíada. Los estudiosos creen que la Odisea fue compuesta cerca de finales del siglo VIII a.C., en algún lugar de Ionia, la región costera griega de Anatolia.
