Un fluido es una sustancia, tal como un líquido o un gas, que cambia de forma rápida y continuamente cuando actúa sobre ella por fuerzas. La mecánica de fluidos es la ciencia que estudia cómo responden las cualidades de los fluidos a tales fuerzas y qué fuerzas aplica el fluido a los sólidos en contacto con el fluido.
