Un uso final se refiere a cómo y dónde eventualmente se utilizará el agua. No hay una gran razón para atrapar agua de lluvia sin un uso final. Los usos finales típicos incluyen agua para beber, jardinería, jardinería, limpieza, etc. Como se mencionó anteriormente, el agua potable es un desafío mayor que otros usos finales, que pueden incluir limpieza, lavado, riego, etc.
Además del nivel de pureza necesario, la cantidad de presión necesaria para el uso final también afectará sus elecciones. Algunos sistemas necesitan una presión significativa, por ejemplo, ducharse, donde como otros sistemas necesitan menos, por ejemplo, riego por goteo. Cuanto mayor sea la diferencia de altura vertical entre el almacenamiento de agua y la salida de agua, mayor será la presión, como se discute en la Sección 3.
