En la Sección 6.6, vimos que los operadores lineales en un espacio vectorial n-dimensional están en correspondencia uno a uno con\(n \times n\) las matrices. Esta correspondencia, sin embargo, depende de la elección de la base para el espacio vectorial. En este capítulo abordamos la cuestión de cómo cambia la matriz para un operador lineal si cambiamos de una base ortonormal a otra.
