    Definición 6.1

    El mapa de Gauss es la transformación\(T : [0, 1] \rightarrow [0, 1)\) definida por

    \[\begin{array}{ccc} {T(\xi) = \frac{1}{\xi} - \lfloor \frac{1}{\xi} \rfloor = \{ \frac{1}{\xi} \}}&{\mbox{and}}&{T(0) = 0} \end{array} \nonumber\]
