Las herramientas UX van desde rudimentarias (lápiz y papel) hasta altamente sofisticadas (aplicaciones web y herramientas tecnológicas). Aquí hay un breve resumen de opciones populares.

Balsamiq (https://balsamiq.com) se presenta a sí mismo como una 'herramienta de creación rápida de wirefring' y es ideal para crear divertidos wireframes de baja fidelidad y prototipos simples.

Axure (www.axure.com) es una herramienta de prototipado multiuso que permite crear sitios web wireframed totalmente interactivos sin necesidad de codificar nada. Una característica útil es que también genera especificaciones técnicas para que los desarrolladores trabajen a partir de las interacciones y enlaces creados en el proceso de prototipado.

Gliffy (www.gliffy.com) es una herramienta basada en la web que le permite crear una amplia gama de diagramas, desde wireframes hasta mapas de sitio y gráficos.

Invision (www.invisionapp.com) es una herramienta basada en web que le permite diseñar prototipos a través de la web y el móvil.

Morae (www.techsmith.com/morae.html) es un buen lugar para comenzar si está buscando un reemplazo basado en la web para laboratorios de usuario.

Pop (https://marvelapp.com/pop/) o Prototyping on Paper, es una aplicación gratuita para aplicaciones de prototipado en dispositivos móviles.
