Descripción de la celda:
Glóbulos rojos que tienen forma de lágrima o pera con una proyección roma. 1 El tamaño de estas celdas es variable. 2
Formación de células:
Glóbulos rojos con inclusiones: Las células en forma de lágrima se forman a partir de estas células cuando las células intentan pasar a través de la microcirculación, lo que resulta en el pellizco de la célula ya que la parte que contiene la inclusión se deja atrás. 2
Mieloftisis: desplazamiento del tejido hematopoyético normal en la médula ósea por células anormales (neoplasias malignas) o fibrosis, lo que provoca el hacinamiento de la médula ósea y el pellizco de los glóbulos rojos a medida que son expulsados de la médula ósea.
