La comida proporciona al cuerpo los nutrientes que necesita para sobrevivir. Muchos de estos nutrientes críticos son macromoléculas biológicas, o moléculas grandes, necesarias para la vida. Estas macromoléculas (polímeros) se construyen a partir de diferentes combinaciones de moléculas orgánicas más pequeñas (monómeros). ¿Qué tipos específicos de macromoléculas biológicas requieren los seres vivos? ¿Cómo se forman estas moléculas? ¿A qué funciones sirven?
