- Las relaciones intergrupales (relaciones entre diferentes grupos de personas) van a lo largo de un espectro entre tolerancia e intolerancia. La forma más tolerante de las relaciones intergrupales es el pluralismo, en el que no se hace distinción entre grupos marginados y grupos dominantes, sino que hay igualdad de posición. En el otro extremo del continuum se encuentran el genocidio, la expulsión y la seguración, claros ejemplos de intolerantes relaciones intergrupales.
- 7.4: Instituciones sociales
- Las instituciones sociales de nuestra cultura también informan nuestra socialización. Las instituciones formales, como las escuelas, los lugares de trabajo, la religión y el gobierno, enseñan a las personas cómo comportarse y navegar por estos sistemas. En esta sección se profundizará en la institución social de la familia, el sistema de justicia penal, la religión, la salud, la educación, la economía, la política y el impacto que estas instituciones tienen en la vida de los afroamericanos.
