- Resolución de tiempo alto: Espectroscopia ultrarrápida, trazado de procesos físicos ultrarrápidos en materia condensada (ver Figura 1.3), reacciones químicas, procesos físicos y biológicos, influyen en reacciones químicas con pulsos de femtosegundos: Femto-Química (Premio Noble, 2000 a A. Zewail), circuito eléctrico de alta velocidad pruebas y muestreo de señales eléctricas, ver Figura 1.4.


- Alta resolución espacial:\(c\tau_{\text{FWHM}}\); imagen óptica, por ejemplo tomografía de coherencia óptica, ver Figs. 1.5-1.8).

- Imagaing a través de medios fuertemente dispersos:

- Alto ancho de banda: comunicaciones ópticas WDM masivas, muchos canales de una fuente o TDM masivo, flujo de alta velocidad de bits de pulsos cortos.
