Por ejemplo, digamos que queremos saber qué modelos de iPhone son los más utilizados. Digamos que le preguntamos a un gran grupo de usuarios de iPhone qué modelo posee cada uno. Si tuviéramos que tomar el promedio de estos valores, veríamos que el modelo medio de iPhone es 9.51, lo cual es claramente sin sentido, ya que los números de modelo de iPhone no pretenden ser mediciones cuantitativas. En este caso, una medida más apropiada de tendencia central es el modo, que es el valor más común en el conjunto de datos, como ya comentamos anteriormente.
