En esos años, con todas las discusiones, solo pensé que mi papá tenía un corazón enojado. Parecía que no solo estaba enojado conmigo: estaba enojado con el mundo. Pero en su haber, a medida que seguía encogiéndose, a medida que sus articulaciones se fusionaban más y sus extremidades se volvieron más nudosas, nunca se quejó, y nunca dejó de intentar contribuir. Maestra para llevar: Este ensayo utiliza narración hábil. Sin embargo, la mezcla de tiempo pasado simple con futuro simple sitúa tanto al lector como al narrador en el pasado. Esto significa que no atravesamos la brecha diegética hasta los dos últimos párrafos. Sin embargo, es un buen ejemplo de tejido.
