Los acordes sextos aumentados son una clase especial de acordes predominantes con notas que se acercan al dominante (5^) desde un medio paso por debajo (♯ 4^) y desde un medio paso arriba (♭ 6^) simultáneamente.
En menor, ♭ 6^ no requiere un piso porque 6^ se baja en la firma de clave menor.
