Cabe mencionar que los mapas lineales entre espacios vectoriales también se denominan homomorfismos de espacio vectorial. En lugar de la notación\( \mathcal{L} (V,W) \), uno suele ser el ees de la convención
\[ \mathrm{Hom}_\mathbb{F} (V,W) = \{ T:V \to W \mid \text{ T is linear} \}. \]
Un homomorfismo también\(T:V \to W \) se llama a menudo
- El monomorfismo si\(T \) es inyectivo;
- El epimorfismo si\(T \) es surytivo;
- Isomorfismo iff\(T \) es biyectiva;
- Endomorfismo iff\(V=W \);
- Automorfismo iff\(V=W \) y\(T \) es biyectiva.
